Hello! My name is Katie-Rose and I am the maker behind K2 Clay. As a nurse, I thrive in moments of intense emotion and appreciate the entire spectrum of the human experience. I believe that our oddities and quirks are what make us each a work of art.  Sculpting faces and writing stories about them started simply as a form of self-expression.  It was a way for me to laugh at the ridiculousness of life - in its many moods, forms and colors.

Since I was a little kid, I have always sculpted faces out of whatever I could get my hands on - mashed potatoes, sand, play dough. I started experimenting with clay in 2017 and found an incredible mentor who helped me gain confidence in my style and craft. And in the first few months of the 2020 pandemic, I taught myself to wheel-throw. Since then I have fallen completely in love with pottery and the entire making process. I still work full-time as a nurse, but nearly all of my free time is crammed with clay, pots, mugs and plants. My kitchen and living room spaces are also crammed with the aforementioned items (plus a kiln and a potter’s wheel). I am based out of a small farm in Washington and am extremely grateful to my partner and farm-mates for allowing me to pursue this passion in our shared space. I am also extremely grateful to you for your interest and support.
