FAQ

  • All of my work is sold online through my shop. I typically do shop updates every 2–3 months. The best way to hear about upcoming update dates is by following me on Instagram (@k2.clay) or joining my newsletter - those are the first places I announce everything.

Because pieces often sell out very quickly, it’s important to be on the website right at the time the update goes live (make sure to double-check the time zone. I'm located in PT). To make checkout faster, I recommend creating an account on my website ahead of time. You can also browse the “shop preview” an hour before the update to get a sense of what pieces will be available and which ones you might want to go for.

Even with all of these tips, I know it can still be hard to snag a piece, and I’m truly sorry for any disappointment. I'm continually exploring new systems to help make things feel fairer and give more people the chance to purchase something they love.

  • I am currently taking a break from custom orders. Please see my custom order page for details.

  • I’m sorry, but no ☹! Pre-orders and holding requires a lot of time and coordination. Right now I just don’t have that extra time to spare! Again I am trying to tap into what makes me happy as an artist and that means sticking to boundaries - which is HARD!

  • It depends on box size and location. I learned the hard way that shipping is EXPENSIVE (and complicated)! I am still figuring out the fairest way to calculate shipping costs. Ordering multiple pieces increases the shipping costs significantly. In order to avoid casualties, I pack my pieces well so the boxes with multiple pieces end up getting pretty big. USPS prices jump up a lot for any box with a dimension over 12 inches. Again, I am still working out the kinks and doing my best to make sure that you pay what I pay.

  • Pricing is an ongoing battle! Typically I try to price based on 3 things – time, material and size. All of my pieces are one of a kind and take quite a bit of time, especially the more detailed ones. Additionally, some material is more expensive than others. The gold and silver accents are a luster glaze that is made with real 22K gold which is quite expensive and takes an additional firing so those tend to be more expensive.

  • Yes! I offer 2 kinds of planters and they both have drain holes! The first design has a hole on the bottom and a separate drip tray. The second design is an attached drip tray and a hole on the side that drains into the attached tray. I will always indicate which design in the product's description.

  • Yes! I am currently offering international shipping to over 200 countries. Customers are responsible for any additional customs fees.

  • Any mug with gold or silver jewelry/glasses is NOT microwave safe as that glaze is metal (real gold in fact!). Any mug without gold/silver is microwave safe. Technically all of my pieces are dishwasher safe, though I have heard that the gold or silver may wear a bit over time in the dishwasher.

Shipping Information

  • Regular orders are typically shipped via USPS or UPS within 3-5 business days after your order has been placed. Delivery times vary from 2-7 days depending on your location.

  • For international orders, delivery may take up to 1-4 weeks depending on your country. We currently ship to over 200 countries worldwide. Additional shipping charges, including customs fees, may be required. The customer is responsible for any additional customs fees. For more information, please email me at k2.clay.k2@gmail.com.

  • Shipping costs are based on the customer’s location, in addition to the weight and size of the piece(s). For orders within the continental U.S., shipping costs will vary between $8-$30. Specifics will be provided before your order is placed.

  • If multiple orders are placed during the course of a single shop update, a partial refund on shipping will be issued based on the cost of shipping if you were to have placed a single order. For example, if you placed two separate orders and paid a total of $24 in shipping costs, and shipping would have cost $16 if you were to have ordered both items together, you will be issued an $8 refund. You should receive your refund within 3 business days after shipment.
